The Housing Alliance has a limited amount of resources available to support participation at the Conference, and all are welcome to apply for a conference scholarship.

Scholarship support can include: assistance to cover the cost of conference registration, transportation, lodging, and meals outside the Conference. Scholarship priority will be given to individuals who have personal experience with homelessness or housing instability, and to service providers who work for organizations with limited training budgets.

To apply for a scholarship, use this online form.

If you do not have access to the internet, please contact to Itzchel Bazan to apply for a scholarship over the phone (206)-442-9455 x215.

Applications are due Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:59pm

Volunteer Opportunties

The Conference on Ending Homelessness is seeking volunteers for the following roles:

Registration Volunteers

This will be a four-hour volunteer shift before the Conference on Ending Homelessness begins, and it will take place at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 North 8th Street, Yakima, WA 98901. Tasks will include helping staff prepare conference registration materials, and it will involve lots of standing and moving boxes of materials.

Session Host Volunteers

Session host volunteers attend conference breakout sessions and assist Housing Alliance staff with session logistics. Volunteer tasks include helping conference attendees find seating, distributing handouts and evaluations, collecting continuing education credit signatures, and flagging AV technicians if AV support is needed.

Time commitment for Session Host volunteers:

  • Attend a 30 minute volunteer training from 7:30 am to 8:00 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2018
  • Attend and volunteer in 4 conference breakout sessions on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 between 9:20 am and 5:05 pm
  • Attend and volunteer in 2 conference breakout sessions on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm

All session host volunteer tasks will take place at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 North 8th Street, Yakima, WA 98901. We will work to assign session host volunteers to the breakout sessions they are most interested in attending, but we can't guarantee we will be able to assign volunteers to all of their top choices.

Volunteer Benefits

All volunteers will receive complimentary registration for the full conference, which includes breakfast and lunch on May 22 and May 23 and a light reception on May 22. Please apply for a scholarship if you are seeking resources to cover travel, lodging, or additional meal costs.

Volunteer Application

Please email Kate Baber at if you are interested in volunteering. Applications will remain open until all volunteer positions are filled, and we will prioritize volunteers from Yakima, Central Washington, and Eastern Washington because our Conference is in Yakima, WA this year.
