SCHOLARSHIPS AND VOLUNTEERS
The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance offers a limited number of scholarships to our annual Conference on Ending Homelessness. Priority will be given to people living on low incomes, and then to people who work for smaller organizations with limited training budgets.
Several types of scholarships are available; applicants can receive more than one type of scholarship:
- Registration scholarships (covers conference registration cost and breakfast and lunch at the conference)
- Room & board scholarships (covers 1 or 2 nights hotel stay, meals outside of conference hours)
- Travel stipends (assists with travel costs, like bus fare or gas and parking)
Scholarship applications will be accepted until 5:00pm on Wednesday, April 05, 2017. We are unable to accept additional applications after this date due to the large number of interested scholarship applicants. Applicants will be notified of their award status by 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Applicants who do not receive scholarships will still have the opportunity to register for the conference at the reduced “early bird” rate, which is available through April 25.

Volunteering at the Conference on Ending Homelessness
We are currently seeking volunteers for the 2017 Conference on Ending Homelessness. Volunteers will receive a complementary full conference registration and meals at the conference in exchange for their time and assistance. Please note we are unable to cover travel and lodging for volunteers; you can apply for a scholarship if you are seeking support for these costs.
The following volunteer positions are open:
Volunteer Session Hosts
Session hosts are responsible for helping conference staff provide support to conference presenters during breakout sessions. Session hosts attend a volunteer orientation on Wednesday, May 10, 4 breakout sessions on Wednesday, May 10, and 3 breakout sessions on Thursday, May 11. Volunteer session hosts help collect session evaluation forms, CEU signatures, and assist presenters. Please note we do our best to match volunteers with their top session choices, but we cannot guarantee you’ll get to attend all of your preferred sessions.
Please contact Kate Baber at firstname.lastname@example.org or 206-442-9455 x200 if you are interested in volunteering.
